Carefree Warranty includes:

1. Day-to-day Monitoring of the PV System

A unique aspect is the day-to-day monitoring of your power production. Monitoring of your PV systems are normally offered only with large systems. With the Carefree Warranty, monitoring will be available to you as well. The advantages of monitoring of your PV system are:

• You have your own customer portal on the Internet with your production data, where you can view and compare your day-to-day production rate.
• Corresponding supply of the SolarTotal data logging systems.
• Data transmission by means of the GPRS module, including an annual mobile network subscription.
• SolarTotal receives your production data and will conduct an inspection to detect failure if you report any fault.

2. 20 Year Service and Beyond.....our team is ready and standing by!

With the Carefree Warranty, you can count on immediate response and repair of your system during the whole period of subsidies. Our service team will be on the spot within 48 hours if you report any damage or failure.
You can also be certain that SolarTotal will remedy your damage or failure your report within 7 days. The benefit of a quick service and repair ensures that your production losses are minimised. Suppose your system does not produce for one summer month in 20 years. (On average, this will easily cost you €400 in output.)

3. Production Compensation

If SolarTotal is unable to remedy your damage or failure within 7 days, you will receive production compensation for the missed production output.
Owing to unforeseen circumstances, it is possible that the replacement materials will not be in stock or that your home will have to be reconstructed because of a fire. The Carefree Warranty guarantees that you will receive financial compensation for up to 12 months during the period that your system does not produce PV energy.

4. 20 Year Warranty on the functionality of the PV system

The Inverter is a major part of your PV system. An Inverter has an average life of about 11 years. This means that over a period of 20 years, you will almost certainly have to replace your Inverter(s). Besides the costs of the expensive Inverter itself, including call-out charges, the replacement of an Inverter takes 4 hours of work on average. With the Carefree Warranty your Inverter will be repaired free of charge and quickly, in the event of a failure. This cost is included in our warranty and cost you nothing and, moreover, you will have hardly any production loss. An important advantage of the Carefree Warranty compared to the standard offered factory warranty is that not only the costs of the Inverters are covered, but labour costs are included as well. With a standard factory warranty, you always pay additional costs such as labour, transport, and the costs of any additional materials. Another major disadvantage of a factory warranty is the lead time it takes to respond to breakdowns which is additional lost time in energy production. When a failure occurs, the Inverter first has to be checked, dismantled and sent back to the manufacturer. You receive a new Inverter only after the manufacturer establishes that your claim is justified. During all that time, your PV system has not produced a single kilowatt. This is very likely to happen at least once in a period of 20 years. This, will therefore, lead to considerable costs and loss of income. However with our "Carefree Warranty" all of these problems are taken care of by us for at least next 20 years!

Solar panels (Manufacturer's warranty applies)

The manufacturer of your solar panels guarantees a minimum output of 80% up to 25 years. This factory warranty guarantees you that if a solar panel malfunctions, it will be replaced quickly.

5. Damage due to External Disasters

Your PV system is literally exposed to weather and wind and will have a lot to endure in 20 years. With the Carefree Warranty, damage or loss of your PV system is covered.

Hail, storm or lightening

Your PV system is absolutely resistant to normal weather conditions. In very extreme cases, such damage to your PV system from hail, storm or lightening, SolarTotal will repair your damage immediately.
Your fire insurance will often insure damage due to hail, storm or lightening as well. You, however, should take account of a long time for the handling of your claim. First of all, you have to report the damage to your insurer. Your insurer will then process the claim administratively and assess it. After accepting the claim, the insurer will instruct you or your installer to repair the damage. This takes time, and the loss of production will therefore be substantial and will quickly increase to at least two months. In the second place, an insurer will want to limit the compensation of the damage. Often only the current market value of the insured equipment is paid. With the Carefree Warranty, you always receive new solar panels. Even if SolarTotal has to replace your solar panels, for example after 19 years!

Fire

The chance is, of course, small but if you lose your PV System through fire, it is a comforting thought that SolarTotal will provide for repair and replacement. If this cannot be done quickly, for example because the home has to be repaired first, you will receive compensation for the lost production for up to 12 months.

Theft

The chance is, of course, small, but the harm is great if your solar panels are stolen. Besides the loss and ensuing financial loss, you will also miss the revenues from the FITs. An additional disadvantage is that the repayment costs will certainly continue for a number of years without you having any output. So this is a double financial disadvantage! The Carefree Warranty sees to it that new solar panels are installed immediately should your solar panels be stolen. Your production is assured!
